Max Mara internship

Not only was this my first internship, but it was my first time doing a grown up, big girl interview. I got all gussied up in what at the time I thought were my most stylish, expensive articles of clothing and strutted down Michigan Avenue into the Gold Coast. When I finally arrived at the store I immediately was intimidated. The Italian leathers and beautiful gown drapeings took my breath away.

Surprisingly the interview was quick and painless.

This internship was during my spring semester of junior year. I was going to school full time, had a part time job and now was about to take on a part time internship... I don't know how I did it, but hard work does pay off.

I was  there for three months. I did everything you could think of. They literally had me running around. I steamed the finest silks, I hung the softest cashmere, and I organized the heck out of their stock room. The fashion world seems glamorous and beautiful on the outside, but I had blisters and dirt on me every time I left for the day. It may sound like I'm complaining, but this internship taught me self discipline, self control, team work, and how to think on my feet, literally!

A few weeks after the internship ended I was in the area for another fashion event. I popped my head in to see if anyone still remembered me.  They welcomed me with open arms and big hugs. It's not only the experience that was amazing but also the people. They helped to mold me into the person I am today and the person I am going to be.
